Hostess Brands makes Hostess bread at one or all of its three plants in Georgia, Kansas and Indianapolis. Hostess bread has a shelf life of approximately two months and is intended for sale in drugstores and convenience stores.
Hostess Brands is a new and separate corporate version of the original Hostess company, which is under liquidation, as of 2015. Hostess Brands began producing and selling its bread, including hamburger and hot dog buns and white and wheat bread, during the summer of 2015. After a brief cessation of new production, Hostess Brands restarted production of its various snacks and cakes in July 2013.
