How hot is the Earth's crust?

According to Universe Today, the temperature of the Earth's crust is the same as the outside temperature at any given location.For example, the crust in the region of Antarctica is cooler than the crust in warmer regions of the world, like South Africa.

The Earth's crust is the outermost layer of the planet. Essentially, the ground can be considered the Earth's crust; just a thin layer of rock that only makes up one percent of Earth's mass. According to the Universe Today, the thickest part of the Earth's crust can be found in South Africa, where there is a gold mine that measures almost 4 km deep.
