A HyperText MarkUp Language (or HTML) link refers to a hyperlink within a web page that allows a user to navigate to another page or site. A variety of elements on a page can be defined as an HTML link, including text, images or icons.
HTML links provide visual clues to the user, indicating a link. For example, many text HTML links display in a different color with underlined text. The mouse cursor changes appearance when hovering over a hyperlink, whether it is text or some sort of visual element such as an image or icon. Using HTML links on a web page allows a web designer to incorporate material from many different locations without recreating the content.
