How do you increase your Internet bandwidth?

Internet bandwidth can only be changed by paying for more bandwidth to an Internet service provider. A common misconception of bandwidth is that it equals speed. While extremely slow Internet can see a speed boost if bandwidth is increased, moderate Internet speeds can see little to no increase.

The traditional analogy used to describe bandwidth is its relation to plumbing. In the analogy, water is the data, the pipe is the connection and the size of the pipe is the bandwidth. If data hits a maximum speed, increasing the bandwidth does not increase the speed; it only allows for different data to be transferred without reducing speed.
