Safslim contains linoleic acid, a substance contained in safflower oil that promote abdominal fat loss, muscle mass gains and lowers cholesterol in postmenopausal women without changes to diet or exercise habits, according to research reported by Foodtrainers. More research is needed to confirm the benefits of linoleic acid supplementation.

Safflower, pine nuts and hemp contain linoleic acid, the primary oil in Safslim, states Foodtrainer. Safflower, which is largely made up of linoleic acid, gets converted to gamma linoleic acid, which benefits skin and relieves premenstrual symptoms. Safslim also contains other fatty acids and xylitol, a sweetener. Montel Williams promoted the supplement on the Dr. Oz Show.
