What are some interesting facts about Mariska Hargitay?

Mariska Hargitay has several nicknames, including Bubbles, Marish, Maria and Mackie. In 1967, her mother died in a fatal car accident. Hargitay and her two brothers were riding in the backseat of the car when the accident happened, but escaped with only minor injuries.

Hargitay has a zig-zag scar down the side of her head from the 1967 car crash.

In 1982, Hargitay won the Miss Beverly Hills Pageant, and in 2005 she was named as one of the top 50 most beautiful people in the world by "People" magazine. She was named as one of "People" magazine's top 100 most beautiful people in the world in 2006 and 2008.
