An international money order is an option of payment that is considered guaranteed funds redeemable in the United States and in many foreign countries. According to the U.S. Postal Service, its money orders never expire and can be cashed at banks or financial institutions in 29 countries.
MoneyGram notes that money orders allow users the freedom of a check without the need for a checking account. The three main suppliers of international money orders in the United States are USPS, Western Union and MoneyGram. The USPS notes that there is a $4.50 fee for purchasing a USPS international money order.
