What does an IQ of 131 mean?

A person with an IQ of 131 is considered gifted and is allowed to become a member of Mensa. The minimum IQ required to become a member of Mensa is 130. Two percent of the population falls into the gifted IQ range, which is from 130 and up.
An IQ of 140 or higher is considered highly gifted, with 0.4 percent of the population falling into this range. An IQ in the 115 to 129 range is considered high. An IQ of 124 allows one to become a member of the International High IQ Society.
An IQ score must be obtained from an official IQ test in order for it to hold any meaning. Official IQ tests often cost a fee.
