Is the ItWorks body wrap a scam?

WebMD says that body wraps cannot produce long-term weight loss. At best they can give a temporarily slimmer appearance and produce a few pounds of temporary water weight loss. The effect disappears within a day or two.

According to WebMD, body wraps can temporarily moisturize the skin and reduce the appearance of cellulite for a few hours. Body wraps do not have any permanent effect on appearance or weight.

The It Works body wrap is said to be a device infused with botanical extracts. The wrap is to be applied to the desired body part for 45 minutes. It is intended to firm, tone and reduce inches off the body part that is treated.
