A Jack-Rat Terrier is a breed of dog that is a cross between a Jack Russell and a Rat Terrier. This breed of dog is also known as a Jersey Terrier.
Jack-Rat Terriers are medium-sized dogs, reaching a height of 13 to 18 inches on average. They can weigh up to 26 pounds in adulthood and have an average lifespan of 15 to 18 years. Unlike the Jack Russell and Rat Terriers, Jack-Rat hybrids have fewer health issue predispositions. As with other terrier breeds, Jack-Rats are natural hunting dogs and, if socialized from a young age, are typically not aggressive toward other pets or children.
