What is the joint between the forearm bones and wrist?

There are two joints between the forearm bones and the wrist: the radiocarpal wrist joint and the distal radioulnar joint. The scaphoid and lunate bones of the carpals meet with two concavities to form the radiocarpal wrist joint. The ulnar notch of the radius forms the distal radioulnar joint.
Joints are classified by both functionality and how they are designed structurally. The wrist joint is classified as a freely movable diathrosis joint. The wrist joint is also considered to be a synovial joint, as it has fluid-filled space between the smooth cartilage pads at the end of the articulation bones.
