Jonathan Gruber is a professor of economics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an associate editor of the Journal of Health Economics and the Journal of Public Economics. Gruber is also the author of several books and the Director of the Health Care Program at the National Bureau of Economic Research.
Gruber has a BS in economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a PhD in economics from Harvard University. He became an assistant professor of economics at MIT in 1992 and was one of the creators of the Massachusetts health care reform, also referred to as "Romneycare." Gruber was a consultant for the Clinton and Obama presidential campaigns.
