How do kangaroos protect themselves?

Kangaroos protect themselves by fighting with their arms, or leveraging on their tails and giving a strong kick with their legs. While people view kangaroos as sweet and cuddly animals, these marsupials are aggressive, and will fight a person as if it is another kangaroo.
Kangaroos use general boxing skills to fight with their arms and paws. A kangaroo will punch fiercely if threatened. It can also kick backwards with a powerful kick that can cause great injury to a person or a sparring kangaroo.
To avoid conflict with a kangaroo, never approach it in a menacing way. If a kangaroo attacks, roll into a ball and attempt to find a place to hide.
