The Kiowa Indians primarily ate buffalo. The Kiowa Indians also ate birds and rabbits, as well as nuts, fruits, wild potatoes and corn.
The Kiowa Indian tribe lived in Colorado, Texas, New Mexico and Oklahoma. The Kiowa would trade with other neighboring tribes, including the Great Plains and the Western Plateau. In conducting trades with these tribes, they were able to introduce other foods, such as corn, into their diets.
In the 1800s, the tribe was forced to move to Oklahoma. During this time, they were forced to leave behind a number of their cultures and customs. For instance, most remaining Kiowa tribe members speak English, while in the past they only spoke the Kiowa language.
