What kind of food does a housefly eat?

A housefly eats a large array of foods including milk, vegetables and fruits. They also feed on sugar, blood and feces.

Houseflies are a common household nuisance found all over the world. The insects have sponge-like mouths which allow them to soak up small particles of food and other matter. Mature houseflies will feed on most food products and decaying matter while the larvae feed on paper and wool. Houseflies are the fastest reproducing species of fly, and a female can lay as many as 150 eggs in just days. They are able to reproduce when they are only 24 hours old.
