A Connection Vision plan comes with all GEHA health plans, explains GEHA. Benefits vary depending on whether or not a person has a Health Savings Advantage high-deductible health plan or a high or standard plan.
For members with a high or standard option health plan, Connection vision covers one eye exam a year for every plan member with a $5 co-pay, as of 2015, reports GEHA. When purchasing glasses, members receive 60 percent of the retail price of frames for in-network providers, and GEHA covers lens and special features up to a certain amount. For example, GEHA covers up to $135 for standard progressive lens.
For members with a Health Savings Advantage high-deductible health plan, Vision connect also covers one eye exam a year with a $5 co-pay, explains GEHA. GEHA covers the full price of frames under $100, but requires members to pay 80 percent of the cost of frames over $100.
