What kind of weather does a stationary front bring?

A stationary front may bring cloudy and wet weather to the area. If there is enough moisture in the warm air mass, there is some type of precipitation, such as rain or freezing rain. However, if the warm front is dry, then no precipitation falls.
If the warm air mass has enough moisture to produce precipitation, rain falls for many days and can cause major floods or ice storms.
A stationary front is formed when a warm front and a cold front meet each other and neither one has the power to overtake the other. They essentially form a stalemate and push back and forth against each other until one wins. This process can take many days.
