What kinds of decomposers live in the desert?

Decomposers that live in a desert include fungi, slugs, snails, bacteria and worms. The decomposers are needed to eat dead things.

Decomposers have an important job. They eat a dead animal or plant and release nutrients back into the ground for the producers to use. Plants use these nutrients, along with water and sunlight, to produce food for themselves and other creatures. Primary consumers, also called herbivores, eat the plants, and the secondary consumers eat the primary consumers. Tertiary consumers eat the secondary consumers, and when the tertiary consumers die, the decomposers come along to begin the cycle once again.
