Why does a KitchenAid dishwasher door leak?
By Forinfos - 25/05/2025 - 0 comments
Running a wash cycle while the bottom rack of the dishwasher is empty causes the water to spray directly towards the door, potentially causing a leak. The dishwasher should only be run when both racks are full.
A damaged door seal can prevent the dishwasher door from closing completely, leading to leakage. Leakage can also occur if an item gets stuck between the seal and the tub. Checking for such items and for damaged seals can help solve these problems. Lastly, extremely high water temperatures of more than 160 degrees F can cause a KitchenAid dishwasher to leak at the beginning of a wash cycle. The manufacturer recommends reducing the water temperature to 120 degrees F.
