Is Kombucha tea more dangerous for the elderly?
By Forinfos - 21/02/2026 - 0 comments
Kombucha tea is potentially unsafe for any adult but is likely to be unsafe for those who have a compromised immune system or diabetes, two factors which are common in the elderly. Precaution should be taken if a person has a history of alcoholism or irritable bowel syndrome, as well.
Kombucha is made out of fermented kombucha yeast, black tea and other ingredients. The tea contains alcohol, B vitamins and caffeine. Many believe that the tea can help strengthen metabolism, help hair regrowth, and support arthritis treatments. However, there is no scientific evidence that it helps with these treatments or any others.
