The Korean War Veterans Memorial is located in Washington D.C. on the Mall. The memorial includes 19 sculptures that depict the ethnic and racial makeup of the members of the armed forces that fought in the war. There is a Pool of Remembrance dedicated to the casualties of the war.
The memorial's dedication occurred on July 27, 1995, and it sits just southeast of Lincoln Memorial. In addition to the pool and sculptures, there is a granite mural wall with 41 panels depicting the images of over 2,400 photographs taken during the war. The memorial gives representation to all five branches of the armed forces, including the Navy, Army, Marines, Air Force and Coast Guard.
