What is a land region?

A land region is an area of land that shares common features across its range. These features can be either natural or artificial features.
Here are some characteristics that can be used to define land regions:
- Language
- Government
- Religion
- Forests
- Wildlife
- Climate
Some examples of land regions are the Middle East, Amazon River, and the United States. The Middle East has the common features of politics, the environment and religious factors. The Amazon River is characterized by warm temperatures, a large selection of plants and animals and heavy rainfall. The United States can be divided up into many different regions, including the Atlantic States, the Middle Atlantic States, the Midwest, Pacific and the New England states.
