Latisse helps lengthen and thicken eyelashes over a period of several months when used consistently. Clinical trials report a 25 percent increase in lash length, 106 percent increase in fullness and 18 percent intensity increase in the darkening of lashes.

Latisse is a prescription topical solution designed for application at the base of the upper lashes. It is not to be used on the lower lashes. Maximum results take 16 weeks, and eyelashes return to their normal state once a person stops using the solution.

Possible side affects include skin darkening on the upper lid, itching and irritation. This medication is for the treatment of hypotrichosis, which is a condition where lashes develop abnormally.
