What latitudes are most likely to see glaciers?

Nearly 99 percent of the glacial ice on Earth is found in its polar regions, north of 35 degrees North latitude and south of 35 degrees South latitude. However, glaciers can be found in some form on every continent except for Australia.
Antarctica's surface is almost entirely made up of glacial ice and contains approximately 90 percent of the Earth's freshwater in its ice. The ice sheets are miles thick in most places and contain enough frozen water to raise global sea levels more than 200 feet if all the ice melted. Outside the polar regions, the most common places to find glaciers are mountainous regions with high levels of snowfall.
