FOX Sports has provided a short biography of Laura Okmin's professional career, detailing her time with the company and her prior employment with TNT, CNN and several local news stations. Okmin began working in sports journalism during the mid-1990s and joined the FOX Sports Network in 2002.

As of 2015 Okmin's duties included sideline reports for NFL games on FOX and contributions to multiple shows on FOX Sports 1. Outside her normal work duties, she also produced and hosted the program PROfiles, which was shown on FSN, and published a children's book entitled "Mommy Has Cancer." Originally from Chicago she received a degree in journalism from the University of Kansas.
