What is the length of a day and year on Saturn?
By Forinfos - 09/04/2025 - 0 comments
A day on Saturn is 10.7 hours, and a year is equivalent to 29 Earth years or 10,832 days. The length of the day is calculated from the planet's rotational speed, while scientists determine the length of a year by observing Saturn's orbit.
As Saturn orbits the Sun, it tilts on its axis, which gives the planet seasons. Measurements of the length of Saturn's day vary slightly based on different measurements from the Voyager, Ulysses and Cassini spacecraft. Scientists attribute the difference, as much as 6 minutes, to the solar wind from the Sun interfering with the measurements. Additional measurements over time allow for more precise readings.
