What is the lifecycle of a sunflower plant?
By Forinfos - 03/12/2025 - 0 comments
The sunflower plant begins life as a dormant seed until it germinates. Then it becomes a seedling and grows until it reaches the reproductive stage, eventually beginning the flowering stage. The plant is considered mature when the bracts become brown.
The seedling stage of a sunflower plant lasts from 11 to 13 days after the seed appears. Germination of a sunflower seed takes anywhere from two to 10 days. After this time, the seed buds and the bud traces the path of the sun, soaking up as much sunlight as possible. The anthesis process is next, which takes seven days. Then, the plant will grow into the familiar sunflower plant most people know.
