Who is Liu Hui?

Liu Hui was a mathematician during the Three Kingdoms period in ancient China. He was born around the year 220 A.D. and was descended from the Marquis of Zixiang of the Han Dynasty.
Lui Hui was the author of the famous book "The Nine Chapters on the Mathematical Art," which contained various answers to mathematical problems in fraction and decimal form. The book also contained his calculation for the algorithm of pi. Lui Hui is also credited with discovering that a wedge with a rectangular base and sloping sides could be broken up into a pyramid and a tetrahedral wedge.
