How do lobsters reproduce?
By Forinfos - 20/12/2025 - 0 comments
Female lobsters lay eggs that are fertilized by the male lobster. Females must be fully matured before they can reproduce.
A female lobster will release a scent to let males know she is ready to begin mating. The males will fight over which one get her. The victor will bring the female back to his cave and protect her while she sheds her tough outer skin. Once she is done molting, he will place a packet of sperm in her abdomen. The female will wait and release her eggs when she feels it is safe. The eggs are carried under her tail until they hatch.
