In the wild, the average lifespan of an anaconda is roughly 10 years. In captivity, an anaconda can have a lifespan of up to about 30 years.
South America's green anaconda is the largest snake in the world. The green anaconda can grow to over 29 feet in length. Green anacondas can weigh over 550 pounds, and the females are much larger than the males.
Other types of anacondas are the yellow anaconda, the dark-spotted anaconda and the Bolivian anaconda. During mating, many male snakes form a ball around one female for up to four weeks. Females do not lay eggs; instead, they give birth to live babies in numbers of two to three dozen.
