Concussions in children also take about 7 to 10 days to heal. The Mayo Clinic recommends that children wait for several days after symptoms disappear before resuming normal activity. Additionally, if symptoms in children persist after 24 hours, parents are advised to contact a doctor to rule out a more serious condition.
