How long did the Hundred Years' War last?

The Hundred Years' War was not actually one war but rather a series of conflicts lasting from 1337 until 1453, for a total of 116 years. The conflict was between England and France for the control of France.

The war was fought entirely in France and ultimately ended when the English occupying Bordeaux surrendered and left Calais as the only English possession in France on Oct. 19, 1453. In 1558, France finally reclaimed Calais. The war may have reduced France's population by approximately half. The war created mutual antagonism between England and France, which has remained until the present day.
