As of 2014, Kobe Bryant has been a player in the NBA for 18 years. In 1996, he was drafted directly out of Lower Merion High School in Ardmore, PA, a suburb of Philadelphia. The 2014-15 season will be the 19th year for the shooting guard.

Kobe Bryant was selected with the 13th pick in 1996 NBA entrance draft. He was originally chosen by the Charlotte Hornets but was traded in a prearranged deal to the Los Angeles Lakers for Vlade Divac. Bryant has won a total of five NBA championships with the Lakers. He holds a career average of 25.5 points per game and ranks as the 4th highest scorer in NBA history.
