How long does perfume last?

The shelf life of perfume is generally around three to five years from the date of production. You must store perfume properly to ensure quality over a long period of time.
While keeping perfume in the bathroom might seem to make sense in terms of access, the bathroom is actually a bad choice for storage. Perfume lasts longest stored out of direct sunlight, away from heat and at a temperature that remains consistent. When it comes to the scent of a fragrance, body chemistry and the notes present in the perfume determine the length of time that it lasts on one's skin. In general, citrus and fruity fragrances tend to last for a shorter length of time than fragrances with musk notes.
