How long do Pomeranians live?

Pomeranians are a small dog breed that have a lifespan of 12 to 15 years. They have a longer lifespan than other, larger dogs.

Lifespans are only general indicators of how long a breed lives. Not all dogs live to this age, and Pomeranians have certain health issues that may affect their lifespan or quality of life.

Generally, Pomeranians are healthy, but Merle-colored dogs sometimes suffer from deafness and abnormalities that affect the reproductive, cardiac and skeletal systems. Pomeranians, like other small breeds, often suffer from luxating patella, which is a slipping of the knee joint. They are also prone to tracheal collapse, a condition that occurs when the rings of the trachea become weak.
