How long does it take to receive GED test scores?

As of 2014, students can usually expect to receive GED scores within 24 hours of completing the test. The increased turnaround time is the result of an automated scoring system applied to 97 percent of submitted GED exams.

There are several factors that cause delays in next-day scoring. About 3 percent of GED exams are flagged for manual scoring and must be removed from the automated scoring system and graded by a proctor. Another circumstance that causes students to receive scores later than 24 hours after submitting the test is a delay in uploading exam results on the part of the testing center.
