How long do Springer Spaniels live?

The typical lifespan of an English Springer Spaniel is between 12 and 14 years. Springers tend to remain active and energetic well into their senior years.

Springers are sporting dogs. There are two types of English Springer Spaniels: field and show. Field Spaniels are bred specifically as hunting dogs. Show type Spaniels are bred for confirmation shows. Both types require a good deal of exercise, especially the field type. All Springers tend toward being overweight if their diet is not closely monitored. Evidence shows that giving them sufficient exercise and limiting their diet can contribute to extending the dog's life.
