What was the longest field goal kick in college football?

As of 2015, the longest successful field goal attempt in college football is 69 yards. It was kicked by Ove Johansson of Abilene Christian University in a game against East Texas State on Oct. 16, 1976.

Drew Galitz of Baylor University hit a 71-yard field goal in October 2014, but only in practice. It is impossible to tell if Galitz would have been able to score the kick if he had to face a team defending the play, so this is not considered to be on par with kicks during the course of games. The NFL record, as of 2015, is held by Matt Prater, who kicked a 64 yarder for the Denver Broncos on Dec. 8, 2013.
