The longest snake in the world is the reticulated python. They live in the East Indies and Southeast Asia, and they can grow to be up to 30 feet long.
On average, the reticulated python weighs about 250 pounds, although the largest-known python is 350 pounds. These snakes bite their prey, squeeze it slowly to death and then swallow it whole. Reticulated pythons live in caves, in trees and on the ground, and they eat monkeys, deer, boars, chickens, ducks, rats, cats, dogs and pigs. Pythons rarely eat people, but there have been occasional reports of people being captured and eaten by these snakes.
