Where do you look for the serial number on a dishwasher?

The serial number on a dishwasher may be found on the rating label on the inside of the unit. To find the rating label, open the dishwasher door, and look for it on the inside of the dishwasher's left edge.

The serial number will be listed along with the unit's model number. Used to identify a product, serial numbers consist of a series of numbers and letters which can be useful in protecting against theft or to facilitate identification if a particular item is recalled by the manufacturer. A serial number can also be helpful when trying to locate a part for repair of an item.
