Low platelet counts do not cause nausea, fatigue or dizziness, according to Mayo Clinic. The symptoms of a low platelet count involve excessive bleeding and bruising. Low red blood cell counts and aplastic anemia do cause symptoms such as fatigue, dizziness and nausea.

Platelets stop bleeding by sticking together over cuts and blood vessels, according to the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute. People with low platelet counts normally have heavier bleeding, and often the bleeding is difficult to stop. Symptoms of a low platelet count include nosebleeds, bleeding gums, heavy menstrual periods for women and blood in the body's waste.
