Does the low temperature of my refrigerator stop my ice maker from making ice?
By Forinfos - 27/06/2025 - 0 comments
The icemakers of some brands of refrigerators are dependent upon refrigerator temperature. Such interruptions occur because the timers that determine the ice freeze time and harvest time are disrupted when the thermostat of the refrigerator does not reach a certain temperature.
In order for ice to be released from the ice trays in some brands of refrigerators, once frozen, it must be warmed to a certain temperature. If the ice does not reach that temperature, the tray cannot dispense of the ice into the holding tank and begin the cycle of making more ice. The thermostat in the refrigerator is what triggers the release of the ice by triggering a valve opening based on a preset temperature.
