How do you make a blood pressure chart?

To make a blood pressure chart, record the ratio of the systolic number to the diastolic number (the former on top and the latter on the bottom) and identify if this number falls in the normal, prehypertension, hypertension stage 1, hypertension stage 2 or hypertensive crisis category. The systolic and diastolic numbers are both measured in millimeters of mercury, which is abbreviated as mm Hg, according to the American Heart Association.
To create a blood pressure chart with values assigned by the American Heart Association:
- Assign the vertical values
- Assign the horizontal values
- Assign the Normal category values
- Assign the Prehypertension values
- Assign the Stage 1 values
- Assign the Stage 2 values
- Assign the Hypertensive Crisis values
Along the top of the chart, create four columns: "Blood Pressure Category," "Systolic number," "and/or" and "Diastolic number."
Under the Blood Pressure Category, create five rows: Normal, Prehypertension, Hypertension Stage 1, Hypertension Stage 2 and Hypertensive Crisis.
Across the Normal row, write "less than 120" under the Systolic column, "and" under the and/or column and "less than 80" under the Diastolic column.
Across the Prehypertension row, write "120-139" under the Systolic column, "or" under the and/or column and "80-89" under the Diastolic column.
Across the Stage 1 row, write "140-159" under the Systolic column, "or" under the and/or column and "90-99" under the Diastolic column.
Across the Stage 2 row, write "160 or higher" under the Systolic column, "or" under the and/or column and "100 or higher" under the Diastolic column.
Across the Hypertensive Crisis row, write "Higher than 180" under the Systolic column, "or" under the and/or column and "Higher than 110" under the Diastolic column.
