How do you make a Christmas tree?

To make a Christmas tree, cut out various circles from sheets of green paper, fold them to create texture, then glue them onto a 12-inch wood skewer. For larger Christmas trees, use dowel rods instead of skewers, and cut out larger circles from roll paper.
- Cut out circles
Use an adjustable circle cutter or a compass to cut out 2-, 3-, 4-, 5- and 6-inch circles. If making a larger tree with a dowel rod, scale the circles based on the length of the dowel rod. For example, with a 4-foot dowel, multiple the size of each circle by four, and make additional circles at in-between sizes.
- Fold the circles
Fold each circle in half four times, and crease the folds with a bone folder or the back of a spoon. Before unfolding the circles, snip off the tip of each one. Make sure the hole is large enough to fit tightly around the skewer or dowel.
- Glue the circles onto the skewers
Add the smallest circle to the top of the skewer, and secure with a dab of hot glue. Continue adding and gluing circles from smallest to largest.
- Finish the tree
Insert the skewer into a wooden spool, or make a base by drilling a hole into a block of wood. Secure it with hot glue. Top off the Christmas tree by gluing on a gold bead or another decoration.
