To make a ring out of a quarter, drill a hole into its center. Keep it in place, and tap the edges of the coin with a spoon. Finally, roll the coin on a metal anvil, and remove the remaining materials in the center.
- Gather your materials
Use a metal anvil, such as an axe head, to roll the edges on. You also need spoons, fingernail files, a drill, a round file, an adjustable wrench and a dremel.
- Flatten the edges
First, drill a small hole in the center of the quarter, and place a round file in the bit to hold it in place. Spin the coin, and tap the edges with a spoon. Make sure the coin is spinning on the axe head. You may use a fingernail file to remove any wrinkles. This process takes hours to complete.
- Remove the material from the middle
After reaching the appropriate ring size, remove the quarter from its wedge. Begin to remove the coin material in the middle. There are a variety of options to do this, such as using a file, dremel or drill. After the material is removed, use a fingernail file to smooth out the inner edges.
