How do you make a thumbs-up symbol on Facebook?

Emoticons on social media are a great way of expressing a mood or emotion. You can show approval or excitement on Facebook with the thumbs-up emoticon by entering (Y) on your keyboard.

1. Place your cursor

   To create the thumbs-up symbol on Facebook, click the area where you want the symbol.

2. Enter the shortcut on your keyboard

   Type the following in your keyboard: open parenthesis, the letter "Y" in caps, and then closed parenthesis. The end result should look like this: (Y).

3. Click Enter

   Once you have entered the shortcut, hit Enter on your keyboard. Your (Y) should be replaced by the blue thumbs-up emoticon.
