According to a study done by State Farm, there were approximately 1.23 million vehicle collisions with deer between 2011 and 2012. The cost of vehicle damage caused by deer collisions is estimated to be around $4 billion per year.
During deer mating season, which occurs between October and December, there is a dramatic increase in the number of collisions between automobiles and deer. This is due to the fact that deer are more active during this period and migrate further and more often. The number of deer collisions is expected to rise each year as population grows and development continues.
