How many eyes did a cyclops have?

A cyclops had only one eye in the middle of his forehead. Cyclopes were mythological giants in Greek and Roman mythology and were sons of Uranus and Gaea.
Contradictory tales involve the Cyclopes. Some stories describe them as a lawless group who had once been imprisoned by their own father and later by a brother. They gave Zeus his trademark thunderbolt for freeing them. One of the giants, Polyphemus, was supposed to have been blinded in his single eye by Odysseus when Odysseus attempted to escape the giant's capture. In other tales, there were three Cyclopes: Arges, Brontes and Steropes.
