How many faces does a hexagonal pyramid have?

A hexagonal pyramid has seven faces. A pyramid is defined as a solid having a polygonal base and triangular sides that meet in a point.

The pyramid's base defines the pyramid in question. For example, if a pyramid has a triangle at its base, it is a triangular pyramid. If a pyramid has a pentagon at its base, it is a pentagonal pyramid. Thus, a hexagonal pyramid has a hexagon at its base. The six sides of the hexagon form six faces meeting in a point. Those six faces plus the base, which is also a face, make seven faces.
