How many gallons of water can a camel drink?

On average, a camel drinks 30 gallons of water at a time, and they can drink that much in less than 15 minutes. Many people believe that a camel stores water in its humps, but the humps are used to store fat. A camel stores up to 80 pounds of fat in its humps to use as a food source when food is scarce.

Camels drink so much water and store it in their bloodstream so that they have a reserve while traveling. Camels can walk up to 100 miles without needing to drink because of these water reserves.
